Commonwealth Public Service Internship - PAID



The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking college students for our paid Commonwealth Public Service Internship program.  Opportunities will begin in the summer of 2016, and students will earn $14.03 per hour and gain experience in their major field of study.  To be eligible, students must have completed 65 credits, including 12 credits or a minimum of four courses in their major.

Civil Engineering Designer needed in Wexford

Borton-Lawson is looking for a Civil Engineer with strong AutoCAD skills, a natural tendency towards technology, a passion for problem solving, and good communications skills.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities include:
•Assist in plan production and development or modification of reports, plans, specifications, and probable construction cost estimates to provide a complete set of contract documents for his/her projects within the department.
•Performs design services related to site layout, grading, storm water management and erosion control in conformance with local, state and federal regulations.
•Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare permitting and design documents.
•Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, aerial photographs of terrain, existing and proposed characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
•Works with staff in applying standard drawings and electronic file procedures to ensure consistency in applications of standards.
•Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to the specifics of the project.
•Attends client meetings - days or nights.
•Supports and communicates with the project team to executes work in an timely and efficient manner
•Working knowledge of engineering software is required in the following programs: AutoCAD Civil 3D
•Additional software knowledge preferred: AutoTurn, HY-8, VTPSUHM7, Pond Pak, StormCAD/Hydroflow, Microsoft Project, and ArcGIS

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent education is required. Minimum experience of two years, or the equivalent thereof, in a Civil or related engineering field including Land Development design, plan preparation, specifications, contract documents and/or other Civil Engineering processes.

MHY Family Services High Fidelity Wraparound Facilitator

SUMMARY
As part of a Joint Planning Team, the Facilitator works to assist adolescents with emotional needs and their families in strengthening systems of natural support.  This includes improving the ability and confidence of family members in managing their own services, and organizing formal and community supports through comprehensive, individualized, holistic support plans.  Responsible for carrying out services by performing the following duties. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Attends all mandatory county and state trainings.
  • Implements the 10 Principles of High Fidelity Wraparound.
  • Implements the 4 Phases of High Fidelity Wraparound.
  • Ensures that the Principles and Phases of the High Fidelity Wraparound process are delivered with the highest possible fidelity.
  • Seeks and provides coaching, supervision and professional input when needed.
  • Works with youth and families to create and maintain a team for each adolescent and family.
  • Facilitates family and youth team meetings.
  • Ensures that the family/youth voice and choice is at all meetings.
  • Identifies and links adolescents and families to natural and community resources.
  • Tracks graduates over time.

  • Works with and help families to plan and coordinate transitions for the adolescent and family.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or related field with at least two (2) years of experience in relevant family, children/youth or community based services. Relevant alternative experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree in individual cases (subject to approval from OMHSAS). Must possess knowledge of High Fidelity Wraparound Principles and Phases, and maintain HFW training requirements and credentialing as a FSP.  Must be at least 18 years of age with current Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances, and current PA state driver’s license with an insurable driving record.  Must possess demonstrated PC skills including basic MS Office applications.  Additional training or licensing as required by regulations, or as deemed necessary by the Executive Director or Director.

SUMMARY
Responsible for the day to day supervision of MHY residents comprised of at-risk-youth between the ages of 9-17 who are at risk of  abuse or neglect, have been abused or neglected, have serious emotional, mental or behavioral disturbances, and/or are involved in the juvenile justice system.  Responsible for carrying out and directing residents’ daily routines, completing documentation and reports, and communicating with families by performing the following duties. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Provides positive role modeling for residents in areas of communications, decision-making, and problem solving.

  • Acts as the Primary staff for assigned residents, including preparing appropriate reports, communicating with other team members and supervising family visits.

  • Supervises and assists residents in their daily tasks in support of individual goals. 

  • Completes monthly tracking sheets, ISP reviews, safety plan checklists, and similar documentation.

  • Communicates in an effective manner with co-workers regarding residents’ daily living activities.

  • Assumes a leadership role, particularly during crises, to affect calm and effective solutions.

  • Reports any inconsistencies, conflicts or problematic situations to the appropriate Residential Program Manager(s) or in the RPMs absence, an Assistant Residential Program Manager.

  • Responds appropriately and effectively to directives assigned by the Residential Program Managers, Assistant Residential Program Managers, or senior manager.

  • Ensures a safe environment for both residents and co-workers. 

  • Distributes medications effectively and as prescribed.

  • Participates in meetings and training sessions, as scheduled. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities of other staff.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred; high school diploma and a minimum of two years prior related experience in youth direct care services required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be 21 years of age with current Act 33/34  and FBI clearances, and current PA state driver’s license with an insurable driving record required.  Must possess demonstrated PC skills including basic MS Office applications.  Additional training or licensing as required by regulations, or as deemed necessary by the Executive Director or Director.
