Objective: The Busy Beaver Marketing Intern will learn through doing. Under the direction Digital Media Coordinator, the Marketing Intern will add real-life marketing experience to his or her resume through various assigned projects. This position will provide the Marketing Intern with significant opportunities to develop professional skills and create portfolio pieces to use in a job hunt after graduation.
Reports to: Digital Media Coordinator
Responsibilities/Potential Projects (including, but not limited to:)
· Work with the Digital Media Coordinator on growing social media presence
· Product / Event photography for social media
· Assist in the creation of assets to be used on busybeaver.com & Busy Beaver printed marketing
· Assist in ongoing management of www.busybeaver.com
· Follow established corporate design specifications and rules
· Assist in the creation and execution of email marketing & social media
· Assist in the planning and execution of major store-marketing events
o Research and connect with community organizations for events
o Coordinate refreshments and party supplies
o Create and manage master list of vendors and community groups
· Assist in the creation of store-level community events
o Create detailed instructions for stores to prepare and customers to execute
o Work with store management to plan and execute small-scale store-level events
o Help stores engage local community groups
Qualifications:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to multi-task and change directions if necessary
· Ability to prioritize and work independently
· Professional, responsible, dependable and detail oriented
· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Experience is a plus
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and Powerpoint a plus
Hours & Location: Busy Beaver would prefer successful candidate work a minimum of 16 hours per week up to 40 hours per week. Amount of hours worked is negotiable. Job is located at our store support offices at 3130 William Pitt Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15238. Small amount of travel to local stores may be required.
