Objective: The Busy Beaver IT Intern will learn through doing. Under the direction Director of IT & Marketing, the IT Intern will add real-life IT experience to his or her resume through various assigned projects. This position will provide the IT Intern with significant opportunities to develop professional skills and create portfolio pieces to use in a job hunt after graduation.
Reports to: Director of IT & Marketing
Responsibilities/Potential Projects (including, but not limited to:)
The candidate will perform basic IT functions in a retail setting, such as directing service calls, handling support tickets, and working with point-of-sale systems and software.
Responsibilities will include:
· Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
· Setting up new or refurbished devices for use in stores
· Working as a part of the IT team to complete various projects
· Travel to stores around the area to perform troubleshooting and repairs
· Managing Point-of-Sale software and updating miscellaneous records
Qualifications:
· Pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Sciences, Information Systems Management, etc.)
· Willingness to make calls and strong customer service skills
· Ability to learn and adapt to a changing retail environment
· Effective problem-solving skills
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Windows 10 OS
· Previous help desk/technical support experience preferred (not required)
Hours & Location: Busy Beaver would prefer successful candidate work a minimum of 16 hours per week up to 40 hours per week. Amount of hours worked is negotiable. Job is located at our store support offices at 3130 William Pitt Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15238. Small amount of travel to local stores may be required.
