Tuesdays and Thursdays
All persons who wish to become administrators; current administrators; and direct-care staff.
In addition, nurses and personal care home administrators can select courses within the 100-hour training to fulfill their continuing education requirements.
Penn State College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Personal care home administrators are required to complete twenty-four hours of continuing education per year; nursing home administrators, forty-eight hours every two years; RN’s, thirty hours every two years.
These courses are approved by the State Department of Public Welfare for personal care home administrators, by the Nursing Home Administration, and by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association to fulfill your required continuing education hours.
FEE AND REGISTRATION
The course fees range from $40 to $180 per course. The complete 100-hour course, including the exam, is $1,425. Courses may be taken individually. The fees must be paid when you register. To register, complete the enclosed registration form and mail or fax it to the Penn State address listed on the form.
ATTENDANCE AND CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT HOURS
Accurate records of attendance will be maintained to verify and report the continuing education credit hours. Upon your completion of the series, a certificate of completion will be mailed to you.
