About this opportunity:
Position Overview
WYEP-FM in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Events Coordinator to help manage the logistics of the many community events we have planned for our 40th Anniversary Year.  The Events Coordinator will oversee the details and create timelines to ensure successful execution of WYEP events.  This temporary part-time position is for 20 hours per week through the end of calendar year 2014. The Events Coordinator will report to the Director of Education and Community Engagement. 
 
Core tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Creating timelines and communicating deadlines to all key constituents
  • Negotiating all contracts and executing on terms
  • Maintaining communications with venues and community partners
  • Supporting the execution of sponsorship agreements 
  • Being present at events and coordination of on-site activities
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills
  • Event production experience and a strong track record coordinating different types of special events
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs are required
  • Exceptional communication skills including ability to communicate well externally and internally across departments
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to track a lot of information effectively
  • Strong work ethic, ability to manage time efficiently
  • Sound decision making skills, ability to stay calm under pressure and handle non-routine situations with command and ease
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
 
 
The hourly rate is commensurate with experience, and while there are no benefits associated with this position, this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to have an impact on the success of WYEP while working in a culture that is diverse and progressive.
