Buyer/Planner Internship at Bacharach

 

 

Position Title: Intern Buyer/Planner

 

Bacharach is a global leader in design, manufacture and service of HVAC-R instrumentation, from refrigerant and energy monitoring instruments and data analytics to combustion and emissions analyzers.  Bacharach products make heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) industries safer, cleaner, and more energy efficient.   Operating since 1909, Bacharach leads through Pioneering Solutions for combustion analysis and refrigerant gas leak detection and monitoring.

 
Brief Summary of Position Purpose:

This role is a six month Buyer/Planner Intern working with a team of other Buyer/Planners and Commodity Managers who are responsible for work order generation, procurement, and material planning activities assigned to them.

The ability to understand ERP demand and use it to plan and place work orders and purchase orders on time to support customer requirements while preventing material shortages is crucial.

 
Planned Projects based on skill set of the applicant:

  • Kanban system improvement for gas operating supplies.
  • VMI program assessment and improvement.
  • Transition of spare part assemblies to Contract Manufacturer.
  • Supplier pricing and pricelist maintenance – assist in negotiation of 2022 pricing.
  • Consigned inventory management.

 

Additional activities:

Support Supply Chain team:

  • Buyer/Planners in purchase order management.
  • Commodity Manager – new product development projects.
  • Other opportunities as they arise.

 

Education:

  • Working toward a BS/BA degree in Operations or Supply Chain required.

 

Required Skill Sets:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
