Paid Internship, Sexual Violence Awarenes & Prevention

POSITION: Sexual Violence Awareness & Prevention Intern, Community College of Allegheny County

COMPENSATION: $20 per hour (20 hours per week, 12-week Internship)
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be a currently enrolled student at a greater Pittsburgh regional, accredited institution of higher education pursuing a four-year or graduate degree in social work, psychology, higher education, counseling, or related discipline.
2. Must be very creative, highly self-motivated and possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
3. Must possess an operational computer and basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).
4. Functional knowledge of Zoom video conferencing technology, social media platforms, and graphic design applications, such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva or similar application.
5. Ability to multi-task, work independently and as a team.


PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Sexual Violence Prevention & Awareness Intern (“Intern”) position for the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) is a grant-funded, temporary appointment focusing on the implementation of the It’s on Us at CCAC: Increasing Awareness, Outreach and Resources grant program, funded through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This grant seeks to:
1. Improve sexual assault and domestic violence awareness, prevention, reporting and response systems at the institution by expanding our training, workshops, and programs for administrators, faculty, staff and students.
2. Enhance sexual violence awareness and prevention efforts by updating and creating literature, advertising, and social media campaigns to educate the College community.
3. Facilitate virtual programming that specifically appeals to students and provides meaningful interactive and educational opportunities for them to engage around topics of sexual violence awareness and prevention.
