External Hiring Range: $12.67 to $13.84/Hour
Location: Select locations throughout Allegheny, Fayette, and Westmoreland Counties
Education: Associates Degree in Human Services, Psychology/Rehabilitation Science, Social Services or a related Field
Experience: 2
or more years’ experience successfully working with individuals with
disabilities/barriers to employment. Understanding of, or ability to
quickly learn, disability laws including Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act, (Section 504), Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA), individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Will also
accept a Bachelors Degree in the afore mentioned Degrees and 1 or more
years’ experience as stated above.
Summary:
The Transition Specialist will develop pre-employment skills and
provide work experience training, support, information and supervision
to high school students with disabilities/barriers to employment
throughout businesses and organizations in Allegheny, Fayette and
Westmoreland counties, by ensuring that the individuals’ needs are met,
goals are implemented and vocational skills are developed and a safe
work environment is maintained.
