Fall Semester 2015 Student Marketing and Administrative Support Intern for WestPACS (Western Pennsylvania Career Services Association)
Organization Description:
The Western Pennsylvania Career Services Association (WestPACS) is an independent, non-profit consortium of career services professionals representing the member community colleges, colleges, and universities of Western Pennsylvania. The primary purpose of the consortium is to sponsor a job and internship fair each semester at the for the students and alumni of member institutions.
Internship Description:
The Student Marketing and Administrative Support Intern will report to the Internship Supervisor, Kate Labriola-Gorentz, Chatham University Career Development Office and WestPACS Executive Board member. The intern will assist WestPACS with its goals to increase student and alumni attendance at our job and internship fairs. This year’s spring event will be held on March 9, 2022. The intern will:
· Manage and expand social media promotion of the fall job and internship fair through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, including use of real time social media analytics
· Develop social media marketing plan for the two job fairs that is year-round
· Set up and utilize a Hootsuite account
· Update and monitor the WestPACS LinkedIn page
· Build upon the recent social media initiatives and maintain Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts on a daily basis
· Develop ideas for additional marketing and promotion concepts
· Prepare reports for the Executive Board after the fair measuring the effectiveness of marketing strategies
· Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned by the WestPACS executive board as additional needs of the organization are identified.
Desired Qualifications:
· Preferred: Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Communications, PR/Advertising, Marketing or similar programs of study, enrolled at a member school for the 2021-2022 academic year; will consider Sophomore status
· Experience with social media marketing
· Experience with Premiere video-editing software
· An interest in marketing techniques and strategies and a desire to develop knowledge and a skill set in this area
· Keenly aware of deadlines and able to work efficiently in order to complete tasks
· Detail-oriented and self-starter
Location: Remote
Hours: The internship requires approximately 50 - 60 hours of work over the course of one semester. A work schedule, including weekly update meetings with the supervisor, will be determined based on internship needs and the student’s schedule. A significant portion of the work can be done remotely. We require that the intern meets his or her project deadlines as agreed upon by supervisor.
Time Frame: 2021-2022 academic year
Payment: Stipend of $550 (untaxed), payable at the end of spring 2022 semester following completion of the internship tasks
