Biomedical Technologist Needed
Sarasota Memorial Health Care System
Performs all duties without direct supervision and assists with maintenance of all equipment safety checks, repairs, calibration and preventative maintenance to physiological & telemetry monitors, EEG / EKG machines, vital signs monitors, blood flow meters, electrosurgical units, defibrillators, transport incubators, nurses call systems, parts inventory, recording equipment and numerous other biomedical instruments. Assists in maintaining a reliable inventory and with keeping accurate records on all assigned equipment. Responds promptly to all emergency calls. Provides assistance to technicians and operators of biomedical equipment in case of technical or operational problems by using established guidelines and procedures. Participates in disaster, fire and other emergencies; observes all hospital safety practices and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Require an Associate degree in Biomedical Electronics or Electronics Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of experience (preferably within the health care industry) OR a Bachelor degree in Electronics. In lieu of the above, extensive experience with servicing of microprocessors and peripheral equipment and a minimum of five years (5) of experience will be considered.
- Require computer experience (Windows operating Systems, Applications as necessary).
- Require the ability to work shift work or weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer previous factory service certification on clinical equipment and systems.
- Prefer familiarity with codes applicable to field and industry.
- Prefer proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Prefer proficiency in the use of test equipment and tools pertinent to the field.
- Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
