Employment Opportunity: The Allegheny County Department of Human Services currently has one vacancy for County Drug and Alcohol Assistant Administrator (Local Government).



Applications will be accepted July 18, 2016, through July 29, 2016.

Nature of Work: As a County Drug and Alcohol Assistant Administrator, you will maintain and monitor a County Quality Improvement process at the Department of Human Services and provider levels. You will provide technical assistance/supervision to service provider staff related to the development, implementation, and monitoring of County Quality Improvement activities. You will serve as a designate for the Administrator at various meetings, trainings, and committees.

In order to be considered, applicants must be PA residents, and must show a master’s degree or above from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and two years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including one year supervising human service professionals; OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and four years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including one year supervising human service professionals; OR an associate’s degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and six years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including one year supervising human service professionals.

Note: You must be willing to travel. Travel expenses will be paid.

Starting Salary: $61,925/annually, with excellent benefits

TITLE: Part Time Direct Support Professional

EMMAUS PROVIDES 24 HOUR COVERAGE IN EVERY HOME.
SAMPLE SHIFTS:
Mon. thru Fri. 9am-2pm / 9am-5pm / 2-10pm / 5-10pm / block shifts
Weekends 9am-2pm / 9am-5pm / 2-10pm / 5-10pm / block shifts
START DATE: Immediately
STARTING SALARY: $11 / hour
QUALIFICATIONS: GED/ HS Diploma or above
Driver’s License
Act 33/34 clearances & FBI clearance
Physical w/ two step mantoux prior to date of hire
Experience is helpful, but not required; training is provided
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Provide direct support to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
· Be able to work as a team member, follow directions, and agree to supervision by Residential
Advisor
· Be able to carry out the mission and support the values of the Emmaus Community
· To enter into respectful and meaningful relationships with the residents
· Menu planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation (special diets must be followed)
· Medication administration
· Assist with medical appointments
· Assist with personal hygiene
· Help to develop and carry out goals/outcomes and implement ISPs as written; appropriate
documentation
· Attend staff meetings as required
· Participate in Community celebrations such as birthday parties and holidays
· Maintain compliance with all State and County mandated regulations
· To plan and provide residents with opportunities for socialization and recreation both at home and
out in the community
· Helps with the upkeep and maintenance of the home and the residents’ rooms and belongings
· Conducts and records monthly fire drills
· Assists residents with money management, and follows strict policies on protecting and
safeguarding client and agency funds
· All DSPs are cross trained at least one other Emmaus location
