The Westmoreland County Director of Human Services has an opportunity that would be perfect for students interested to serve on the county's Drug and Alcohol Task Force. The county would love to see some student involvement, and I think this would also be a good way to get our campus out there as well!
The task force is broken up into four sub-committees which include: legislative, treatment, criminal justice, and health care. Students interested would be able to express which sub-committee they would want to serve. The overall task force meets about once every 10 weeks, and the sub-committees meet as needed/as scheduled. Also, Dirk expressed interest in needing and wanting interns throughout various county human service departments such as: Human Services, Children & Youth Services, Behavioral Health, Juvenile Detention, and the Area Agency on Aging. Please keep Dirk's contact information on hand and available for students needing/wanting internships. These would be great opportunities for students here at PSNK.
