POSITION TITLE: MH Adolescent Residential Worker POSITION CODE: 851
PROGRAM / DEPARTMENT: Adolescent Diversion & Stabilization
POSITION
SUMMARY:
Provides direct treatment to adolescents with chronic or acute mental
illness residing in the Adolescent Diversion and Acute Stabilization
Program. Promotes mental and physical
health through individual, group, and family counseling. In addition, provides psychiatric assessment,
crisis intervention, medication monitoring and management, service linkage and
discharge planning.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work,
child development and/or related field.
Prior work experience with children and adolescents preferred.
SPECIFIC

Valid PA Driver’s License required.
12.
Child Abuse History Record Clearance
(Act 33) and Criminal History Record Clearance (Act 34) required.
13.
Sensitivity to the needs of the
adolescent with a mental illness; knowledge of the basic principles of mental
illness with adolescents.
14.
Knowledge of normal growth and
development.
15.
Knowledge of normal and abnormal
personality development.
16.
Certification for CPR, First Aid
Training, DPW Medication Administration and Comprehensive Crisis Management.
