MECHANICAL ENGINEER INTERN
PRIMARY DUTIES
Support initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Student will be engaged in a number of projects that may include but not limited to: lean manufacturing initiatives, Six Sigma quality improvement initiatives, capital equipment planning and/or design, data acquisition and analysis, systems engineering, and general office support. Exact projects assigned will depend upon background and skills of selected candidate.

* Currently enrolled in college with a Mechanical Engineering major. GPA minimum 2.75.

CADD ENGINEER INTERN PRIMARY DUTIES
* Under direct supervision, the intern will be required to learn and
manipulate the main drawing file archive system. The intern will retrieve,
plot, update and archive drawing files as necessary.
* Intern may perform basic drafting duties such as creating new drawings
and updating existing. Dependent upon experience, they may also be
required to develop schematics, layout drawings, and general assembly
drawings in both 2D and 3D.
* Support engineering project activities and tasks such as data
collection, field measurements, project design meeting attendance, and
working with mainframe systems to support ordering of parts and
components.
* Activities will be both an office setting and a heavy industrial,
manufacturing mill setting.
* Appropriate safety training must be attended (provided by Carpenter) and
adhered to.

REQUIREMENTS

* Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD, Inventory 2010 and AutoCAD

Responsibilities:
  • Creating, scheduling, and implementing social media campaigns, posts, and contests using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest;

  • Coordinating the design and production of the 2015 National Trails Day® Final Report which is distributed to corporate sponsors, federal agency partners, supporters, and available for the public.

Engineering Summer Intern at PGW in Creighton



Engineering Summer Intern Job Description

Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW), the #1 manufacturer and distributor of automotive glass has openings for  Engineering Summer Interns. This position will be located at the Harmarville/Creighton, PA locations. We offer an exciting and fast paced working environment and challenging responsibilities.
PGW is seeking candidates to work with and learn from senior engineers tackling challenging projects.  Interns are given real-work assignments in keeping with their skills and experience.  These assignments could include a combination of technical research, product design or redesign work, technical documentation, manufacturing support or technical presentations. Interns will be working hands on to produce prototype windshields for new models and constructions. The will learn furnace control operations and the use of glass measurement equipment.  They will also be involved in the analysis of the data accumulated during the Design of Experiments testing. This assignment may also include small projects at other locations within the other PGW fabrication plants. 


This is potentially a long-term internship position that is available to engineering or EMET students.
Seeking two interns to start this summer.


Requirements



  • The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited degree program working toward a degree in engineering (ME,EE, Chem E or IE), or similar degree, INCLUDING EMET degree at PSNK.  
  • The candidate must have finished their Freshman or Sophomore year.
  • The candidate must be available for a minimum of ten weeks between May and September
  • Ability to effectively participate in teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to summarize and communicate results clearly.  
  • The ability to take direction from multiple people and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
