I'm writing you today with information about employment opportunities within the Commonwealth of PA for Information Technology professionals.  We’re currently recruiting for Applications Developers 2, which requires one year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3; OR 2 years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; OR 4 years of information technology experience that includes 2 years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; OR a bachelor's degree in any information technology field.  Please note that students who have a minimum of 90 credits completed, and are within 7 months of graduating with a bachelor’s degree in any information technology field will qualify!!

 

Over 90% of the positions are located in Dauphin County.  The remaining positions are located throughout the Commonwealth.

 

Lists created by these tests will be used to fill future vacancies as they occur due to retirements, promotions, transfers, resignations and so forth.

Job/Internship Description:

•This intern position will report directly to the Fabrication Department’s Head Designer, and also take assignment from the Fabrication Department’s Leader/Manager
•Prepare and interpret blueprints, specifications, assembly instructions, layouts and other visual aids for manufacturing and customer presentations
•Generate shop prints with shop-specific manufacturing instructions
•May be asked to design custom tools for complex part geometry
•Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods to meet quality assurance standards
•Participate in Product Development Product Realization Process (PDPRP) reviews as deemed applicable
•Support and provide inputs into fabrication estimates

Requirements:

•Pursuing Engineering or Engineering Technology degree, or equivalent BS degree
•3D CAD, preferably AutoCAD Inventor or equivalent
•Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
•Possesses strong communication (verbal and written) and analytical problem-solving skills
•Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and a cooperative team spirit
•Demonstrates an ability to work accurately, follow instructions, handle multiple priorities, and work within tight schedules
•Presents a professional manner and attitude, and is eager to learn and be challenged
•Proficient with required common computer applications, including MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, etc
•Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes in priorities
•Able to work independently under minimal supervision, and with others, in a positive and collaborative manner

PHEAA is opening a call center this fall in Pittsburgh/Greentree.
They will be hiring over a hundred people and are happy to have students and/or recent grads apply.  They are paying $11.50 per hour and it's full -time with great benefits.  I see that they are also hiring managers.

This position is housed in IT Services for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Primary duties include maintenance, deployment, and customer support of prevailing commercial desktop operating systems with an emphasis on Microsoft, Apple, and mainstream distributions of Linux. Responsibilities include providing technical support to IT Services staff and affiliated customer groups, some of whom are in other departments or organizational units in the College of Engineering (CIT). This position also includes mid-level systems administration responsibilities and requires commensurate support outside of normal business hours. Experience with virtualized Windows servers under VMware and Microsoft Exchange a plus. Must be able to communicate in writing and orally with precision and clarity, and adjust for intended audience’s varying levels of understanding and background. Must work in parallel with multiple projects, meet strict deadlines, and coordinate with all levels of ITS staff.
