ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

DNP IMS America Pittsburgh, located in Mt. Pleasant, PA, is a leading manufacturer and distributor
of Thermal Transfer Ribbons (TTR) used in the bar coding industry. We are looking for a hands-on
electrical engineer for our manufacturing facility. The daily activities of the electrical engineer at DNP
include:

• Providing electrical and control systems support for a 24/7 manufacturing facility to minimize
production downtime
• Directing and coordinating manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support,
documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer
requirements.
• Managing projects to expand or improve the performance of the facility’s electrical and control
systems.
• Overseeing project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and
within budget
• Inspecting completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and
equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
• Working with outside vendors and contractors to ensure they meet design specifications and follow
safe work practices.
• Preparing specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.

The successful candidate will have:

• An associate degree in electrical engineering technology (or a related field)
• an understanding of electrical area classification and hazardous area wiring standards
• a working knowledge of programmable logic controllers and electric drives.

Preferential consideration will be given to those candidates who have:
• slitting, converting or web handling experience.
• work experience in a manufacturing environment
• have experience supervising and training team members

Technical Writer - Intern

Compunetix is seeking an individual needed to interview technical staff in preparation to write
technical documents including user’s guides, training documents, specification documents, quick

Requirements include technical writing and/or training, solid verbal and written communication
skills including a strong command of grammar, strong organization and interpersonal skills

MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS
An Associate Degree in Chemical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Air Pollution Control Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology or other appropriate technology;
OR
Two (2) years of experience in equivalent air pollution control work and graduation from high school. Technical courses in air pollution control may be substituted for experience at the rate of one month of training for one month of experience up to a limit of one year.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The employee works under uncomfortable conditions in close quarters with heavy machinery and high temperature equipment in all types of weather involving climbing atop coke ovens, working in a contaminated atmosphere requiring the use of safety shoes, safety glasses, helmet, safety clothes, and during many periods, a respirator.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of a valid automobile operator's license and the use of an automobile during working hours.  You must be able to provide your own transportation to and from the various worksites throughout Allegheny County. You will be required to travel.

NATURE OF WORK
This is technical field work inspecting coke plants. An employee in this class makes and records on site observations of plant practices, the condition and functioning of equipment, and the emissions therefrom. Makes detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and makes recommendations as to practices and procedures observed. An important aspect of this position is the appearance as a witness in court to explain comprehensively and defend thoroughly his observations and observation methods. Work is performed following established procedures under the supervision of a technical supervisor who makes assignments, reviews reports and observes work in the field.

The Center for Behavioral and Decision Research at Carnegie Mellon

conducting judgment and decision making in our summer research internship.
The program begins on June 10, 2012 and ends on July 29, 2012.

The CBDR summer internship is open to students who are interested in gaining
familiarity with and executing research in the field of judgment and
decision-making. The Center includes researchers with training in social and
cognitive psychology, behavioral economics, neuroscience, organizational
behavior, marketing, and risk perception.

Interns will spend approximately 30 hours/week working in close contact with
faculty and graduate students affiliated with the center.

Work includes conducting experiments with CBDR researchers in the lab and
field (on our Data Truck). In weekly seminars, researchers will present the
results of the research conducted by the interns the previous week and lead
workshops on related topics (e.g., from intertemporal choice to the graduate
admissions process).
