Summary of Position:

This position is responsible for the timely, accurate, cost effective design and redesign of dies consistent with customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Uses different engineering software to design and produce tool and die prints to meet customer specifications, includes reworks/redesign.
  2. Details final prints producing a Bill of Material to generate defined parts to be purchased and manufactured.
  3. Incorporates changes into the strip layout/die design obtained from different sources:  customers, reviews, and the shop floor (red marks, blue marks etc.).
  4. (On other engineer’s design work) May act as a “checker” on final die design and assembly checks.
  5. Should issues or problems arise in the assembly or testing of the die, the incumbent may assist in the development, investigation and resolution of problems.
  6. May perform research work for quotation or manufacturing support purposes.
  7. Performs all activities in a safe manner consistent with safety requirements.
  8. Other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

1.     Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electro-mechanical preferred), technical field or equivalent.
2.     1 to 3 years experience preferred.
3.     Proficient in SolidWorks, 3DQuickPress, AutoCad.
4.     Attention to details required.
5.     Strong background in math and science.
6.     Ability to troubleshoot and resolve obstacles.
7.     Proficient in reading and interrupting drawings.
8.     Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
9.     Team player.  Ability to communicate and work with shop floor personnel.
10.  Motivated, willing to learn.

This in-home care program will be coordinated at Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) and the Community Health Coaches will be W&J student volunteers, trained and supported by Jefferson Hospital of the Allegheny Health Network physicians, and administrators. The Washington & Jefferson College PACC*VISTA will be responsible for developing, enhancing and expanding the Volunteer Community Health Coach Program (VCHCP). The goal of the VCHCP is to support individuals in local communities with personal health and wellness plans upon their dismissal from the hospital and enroll in the Community Care Network. These plans would prevent avoidable and costly hospital readmissions for the patients. The patients who are discharged from hospital services are continually readmitted at high costs to the individuals and those providing care to the patients. There is a community need to improve the health of the local population while at the same time diminishing the costs of healthcare related expenses for the community members who need it most.
