Municipal Intern Program

 Local Government Academy

"Promoting Excellence in Local Government"

The Municipal Internship Fair is approaching on March 18, 2016, from 12:00 - 2:30 PM at the Carnegie Mellon University – Heinz College.

This year we anticipate having 20 paid summer internships available.  Undergraduate and graduate students from all colleges and university are invited to participate in the Municipal Internship Fair.  Selected students will complete a variety of internships paying between $9.00 – $11.00 per hour.  Additionally, they will gain valuable professional experience working in local communities in southwestern Pennsylvania.  The list of projects will be available on the Academy website on March 9, 2016.

Students are strongly encouraged to attend the Municipal Intern Fair so that they may meet representatives of the placement site and identify the internships that interests them.  Students may register for the Municipal Internship Program and the Fair at http://localgovernmentacademy.org/interns-and-careers/mip/students-and-career.  In addition to registering for the Municipal Internship Fair, there they may upload their resume to be included in our “resume bank” that will be made available to the local governments in the program.   Students interested in the program but unable to make the Fair itself should still register at the website to be considered for municipal internships.

Please contact Local Government Academy at (412) 586-5659 if you have any questions.
