Brief job description: The basic duties of a police officer include patrolling, traffic
enforcement, responding to calls for service and addressing the community
concerns related to crime and quality of life issues.

The Chesterfield County Police Department is located in central Virginia
and adjoins the City of Richmond. We are a progressive and professional
department offering paid training, permanent 12 hour shifts and career
development.  Benefits include tuition reimbursement, health/dental
insurance and a take home vehicle.  The department is a full service
agency with 21 specialized units including SWAT, K-9 and Investigations.
The initial training consists of a 32 week, non-residential academy and a
two month field training period.  Officers are eligible to join
specialized units two years after field training.  We also offer
internship opportunities for juniors and seniors.

Requirements:  Open to all majors and academic levels
Qualifications:
*Be a U.S. citizen.
*Be 21 years old prior to completion of academy, have 60 college credit
hours, or 2 years law enforcement experience, or 2 years active duty
military experience, or 3 years stable employment, or equivalent
combination of education, training and experience.
*Possess or be eligible for a Virginia driver's license with no more than
six demerit points in the past twelve months, or a DUI conviction in the
past four years.
*Vision of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20.
*Weight in proportion to height.
*No convictions of felonies and/or serious and habitual misdemeanors.
*No prolonged/recent use of marijuana.
*Pass a written and physical agility test.
*Pass an extensive background investigation including a polygraph,
psychological, medical and drug screening.

This position is seeking an application developer for mission critical systems that control automated package sorting. Primary duty will be the development and upgrade and rollout of FedEx sortation applications residing on UNIX based servers. Candidate will be expected learn and engage with Ground operations.

The candidate will helping with bundling software installs. These will occur on Unix based applications.  This person will be given script to follow. This position involves putting files together to put on the Unix platform, calling a site, performing a test, and then bundling the installs.  This position will involve communicating with people in the field as well as developers on the team.  

This person must be able to follow a script, perform regimented tasks, work independently and interact will with others.  This person will be involved in three main builds and in-between those busy times will be given other work to do to help support the development team. 

The position will require 0 -  years of hands on IT experience. This position involves excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional skills required include: Excellent analytical/problem solving skills *** Able to follow written instructions consistently and pay attention to details

 Position: Communications Intern

Summary
As the leader of Pittsburgh/Allegheny County's public workforce system, Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board (3RWIB) works to ensure that the current and future needs of businesses and job seekers are met. With tens of thousands of jobs available in the Pittsburgh region, 3RWIB bridges the gap between people looking for work and companies in need of talent.
The Communications Intern will be instrumental in assisting 3RWIB emerge as the thought-leader on local labor market and workforce issues. This intern also will have the opportunity to learn about the public workforce system, the Workforce Investment Act and its administration at the ground level, and the operations of a public-private organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Assisting the organization to emerge as the premiere thought leader on workforce issues for Pittsburgh and Allegheny by:
o Creating and updating compelling content for trwib.org and other outlets
o Establishing and/or managing social media presence on new and existing platforms
o Engaging in creative storytelling through infographics or other graphic design and multimedia strategies
o Assisting in outreach to traditional mediums
o Assisting in the design and preparation of compelling presentations and templates for monthly, bi-monthly and weekly communiques
·         Assisting the organization to communicate key information to Board of Directors by providing accurate and timely meeting minutes
·         Collaborate with 3RWIB staff to meet organizational goals.
·         All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·         Superb creative writing skills
·         Ability to present complex information to varied stakeholders in a compelling and visually appealing way
·         Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
·         Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with diverse groups
·         Ability to take direction and work independently
·         Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator (or other design software) and Content Management Systems

Education/Experience
Graduate or undergraduate communications/English majors considered; communications experience in a corporate setting preferred.
Time
This internship will run 15-20 hours/week from August to December and will take place at 3RWIB during normal business hours.
