Job Description
Reporting to the Director of User Experience, the User Interface Designer is responsible for creating cutting-edge graphics and design layouts for mobile applications such as those for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conceptualize and design innovative and highly usable mobile apps for a range of platforms and devices
  • Provide wireframes, design elements, comps, templates and finished solutions, and ensure that these work within a variety of applications, along with the constraints set for development and design
  • Explore the latest available web/mobile apps, and provide ideas and suggestions for new AccuWeather applications or existing applications based on them
  • Work with team developers to gain an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of specific platforms/devices and tailor designs based on this information
  • Work on multiple projects, organize, and manage your time to meet strict deadlines
  • Other duties may be assigned
BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer, visual arts, digital media, or similar programs with a minimum of one years experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong interest in usability and user interface design
  • Understanding the optimization of graphics for the web/mobile/digital environment is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
