Internship Opportunities with Penn State New Kensington Athletics


Communications Intern
This internship is open to college students interested in implementing their communications education in a realistic work environment.  Interns will assist the athletic director in the completion of daily tasks including but not limited to: website maintenance/website updates, website design, posting articles, aiding in website improvement.  Necessary skills include high-quality written, verbal, and visual communication, multitasking ability, creative thinking ability, general computer skills, and willingness to learn.  College credit hours are offered based on the university’s requirements.  Interested candidates should contact Dave Murray at(724) 334-6750 or dbm16@psu.edu

Marketing Intern
This internship is open to college students interested in implementing their marketing education in a realistic work environment.  Interns will assist the athletic director in the completion of daily tasks including but not limited to: generating/brainstorming new promotion ideas, develop on-campus programming, strategize with marketing team to promote/organize events, assist in a wide variety of marketing tasks.  Necessary skills include strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, multitasking ability, creative thinking ability, and desire to learn.  College credit hours are offered based on the university’s requirements.  Interested candidates should contact Dave Murray at (724) 334-6750 or dbm16@psu.edu.



Sports Management Intern
This internship is open to college students interested in sport management/administration.  Interns will assist the athletic director and coaches in the completion of daily tasks including but not limited to: setting up/facilitating games and events, post-game procedures, scheduling, setting up/confirming events with other universities.  Necessary skills include good communication skills, multitasking ability, and a passion for athletics.  College credit hours are offered based on the university’s requirements.  Anyone interested in this internship opportunity should contact Dave Murray at (724) 334-6750 or dbm16@psu.edu.
