We are beginning to interview for our 20112 Extended School Year Program (information below). If you have any students interested in joining us, please have them contact me. We will fill these positions on a first come basis.

2012 “SERVE” Extended School Year Program (ESY)
How time flies! We are very proud to announce the continuance of our “NEW” Extended School Year Summer Program here at the Pine-Richland Youth Center for children and young adults with special needs. Last year we had our best ESY Summer ever!. We feel that our efforts to provide excellent professional staff leadership and meaningful academic and behaviorally focused activities are only a few reasons for our program growth. Once again, our program will be focused on your child’s IEP goals as stated in their Individualized Educational Plan. We will be working on these goals for forty minutes daily. Both daily and aggregate Progress Reports will be completed and available to parents, school districts and teachers. In addition to the academic component of our program, we will be offering the following activities….
  • Each week will be designated a new and fun “theme” for that week
    • Arts & Crafts
    • Summer Fun…water balloon battle….music…etc.
    • Dance & Movement
    • Physical Fitness
    • Public Safety & Emergency Response Friends
    • Outdoor & Environmental Appreciation
  • Inclusion Activities within the community and joining PRYC Campers
  • Computer Lab Activities
  • Wii Games
  • Deal or No Deal………Family Feud  (TV Games)
  • Puzzles
  • Movies
  • Field trip (optional)…..bowling & picnic

Our program will run from July 9 through August 17, 2012 (six weeks) from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM...Monday-Friday. Children are to bring their lunch….microwave available to warm up food. You must “request” that our program be named as your child’s ESY provider during your IEP meeting. We are an approved ESY provider by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.

In an effort to reflect our sensitivity to these unstable economic times, we will be reducing our tuition $400 to be $2,000 in 2012. Because our space is limited, final registration will be on a first come basis.
